The Mech Jacket is a proper workwear piece, built with an ultra-wide/ultra-cropped body, gusseted shoulders, and articulated elbows for unrestricted mobility. Double-stitched seams reinforced with metal rivets complement the durability of the 11.8 oz indigo-dyed Japanese sashiko-ori cotton.

A unique "layered" chest pocket flows continuously into the hand pocket flap, creating an expanded storage area that accommodates larger items without compromising hand access when the flap is tucked. The Raccagni main zip extends to the top of the corduroy collar, quickly sealing and protecting the neck when zipped - eliminating the need for a throat flap.

The sashiko-ori fabric, historically used in Edo-period firefighter uniform fabric (and more contemporarily in judo and kendo martial arts uniforms), is woven on traditional shuttle looms by a Japanese manufacturer established in the 1940s. The fabric has a distinctive thick “knotted” surface that is highly durable but still very soft and breathable. The indigo dye will fade and distress with time and use, developing a unique patina specific to each jacket.
